Groveland Landscape – Bamboo Growth

Posted in Landscape Lights, Masonry, Plants, Pruning, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:44 AM by Administrator

We planted a variety of running Bamboo plants within a 34″ deep liner with the purpose of creating a natural screen between the hot tub and the main part of the yard and the road.  The bamboo has grown very well and filled in the entire garden.  It is already at the point that the hot tub is ‘invisible’ from the yard as the bamboo has created a full natural screen.

This is what the bamboo barrier looks like in 2014.

Ornamental Evergreen for a Small Space in Danvers, MA

Posted in Landscape Lights, Masonry, Pavers, Plants, Pruning, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:56 AM by Administrator

We, Artistic Landscapes, planted a Picea abies ‘Pendula’ (Weeping Norway Spruce) for a family in Danvers, MA.  We felt this was a perfect plant for this small area – the area is between a segmental wall and a fence that goes along the property line.  In addition, the family’s grill is in front of the area, thus the plant needed to be wide, but not round.  This Spruce has beautiful color, amazing shape and pine cones that are worthy of high praise as they are colorful, bountiful and full.

Front Walkway for West Newbury, MA family

Posted in Landscape Lights, Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:48 AM by Administrator

This West Newbury family wanted a new walkway that connects their driveway to the steps going to their front door.  Thus, we built this 4′ wide walkway and illuminated the walkway with landscape lights that complement to the lighting system in their backyard.  We installed this walkway in 2014 while the backyard was built during the summer of 2013.

Groveland Landscape Trees – Update

Posted in Landscape Lights, Pavers, Plants, Pruning, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:18 AM by Administrator

As I noted last week, we designed and installed this landscape in 2008 and 2009.  The trees have filled in and are creating a nice screen between the room where this Groveland, MA family watches TV and the road.  This picture shows how well the screening is working from the trees – 5 years after planting.

This is the look of their backyard when we were finished planting the trees and the installing their sod lawn.  These trees and the lawn have all done very well due to the diligence provided by the homeowners’ as well as the irrigation system that we installed.  The irrigation system includes drip irrigation for the plants and rotary heads for the lawn.

Groveland Landscape – Update

Posted in Landscape Lights, Masonry, Pavers, Plants, Pruning, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:19 AM by Administrator

We, Artistic Landscapes, designed and installed a landscape for a family in Groveland, MA during 2008 and 2009.  This landscape has done very well.  The plants have grown tremendously under the care of the homeowners as our since the planting has been to maintain the irrigation system while the homeowners have done the rest.  They have added plants and ornamental touches to their evolving landscape which has helped create the absolutely amazing landscape that they now enjoy.

Natural Stone walls for Planters in Quincy, MA

Posted in Landscape Lights, Masonry, Plants, Pruning, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:44 AM by Administrator

We built these 2 natural stone retaining walls by hand chiseling the stones and ‘hiding’ the mortar on the back half of the stones.  This stonework is the basis for 2 raised planters that will be used to grow vegetables and flowers for this Quincy, MA family.  We added the 2 short walls near the corner of the house as a decorative way to transition from the open area in front of the house into this more secluded and private area.
