Landscape Lights for the whole front of a property in Middleton

Posted in Landscape Lights, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:55 AM by Administrator

Similar to the Lynnfield family that we showed you last week, this client also wanted to create focal points and provide a dramatic flair of the front of their Middleton property.  As such, we created a lighting system that includes uplighting most of the trees including installing lights on the house so that we could get more of the foliage of a mature tree and installing a light about 15′ up another tree so that we could have light all the way to the top of the Birch clump, we also installed lights on the house itself so that we could uplight the columns by the front door and the stonework above the garage doors.  By combining these various lighting methods along with other light fixtures and locations, we were able to provide the dramatic flair that this family wanted.

Brick Walkway in Georgetown

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 7:12 AM by Administrator

This Georgetown family had a brick front walkway that connects the driveway with the front steps, but the granite steps had settled over the years and the bricks were no longer tight to each other.  Because of these changes, there were weeds throughout the walkway and the walkway was not safe as the heights of the steps and bricks varied.  We rebuilt the walkway and reset the granite steps by amending to the base, but we did not remove the existing base and install a whole new base.  By utilizing the existing base and just adding edge restraints, we were able to stay within the client’s budget and provide them with a fully functional and beautiful walkway.

Our office in Rowley

Posted in Landscape Lights, Masonry, Pavers, Plants, Pruning, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 7:02 AM by Administrator

We look forward to helping you with your landscaping needs now that we are finished with the construction of our building and have most of our stonework done (we will be adding more displays in 2016).  We are often asked about our process and if it is too early to start planning a project.  Our process is that we will meet with you at your home or at the property location if this is a commercial project and we will ask questions about what your goals are and what you like or dislike about certain items.  After carefully listening, we will get back with you and provide you with our detailed proposal.  Some tweaks may be required after that meeting and you are invited to our office and see the exact stones or lights that we may had suggested in our proposal.  Once you have time to think about everything then we sign the contract and we will normally begin the project about 2 months after that date.

We have our paver parking spaces and paver walkway complete along with our landscape lighting system.

Landscape Lights throughout the whole yard in Lynnfield

Posted in Landscape Lights, Plants, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:50 AM by Administrator

Our goal was to create focal points and provide a dramatic sense of depth to this Lynnfield property.  As such, we created a lighting system that includes lights in the distance (uplighting the mature evergreens on the far side of the property and to the left of the driveway), uplighting trees that are in the lawn area as well as uplighting the front of the house.  By combining these various items, we were able to provide the sense of depth that this family wanted.

Granite Steps and Cobblestone Walkway

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 6:36 AM by Administrator

We installed a new footing (4′ deep) and granite steps for this Georgetown family.  We were told that the homeowner wanted to replace the current stairs (2 steps plus the top landing) and they understood the to of the bottom step would only be 3 or 4″ above their existing cobblestones.  After discussions with the homeowner, we proposed eliminating 1 step and to offset that step, we would rebuild their cobblestone walkway and raise the level of the walkway so that there would be a 7″ step up from the cobblestones to the granite steps.  This worked out great and looks terrific.

Landscape Lights Along the Front Walkway in Andover

Posted in Landscape Lights, Plants, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 6:42 AM by Administrator

We illuminated the front walkway for this Andover, MA family by installing path lights in the garden bed that is between the house and the walkway.  We chose the locations of the lights so that the lights were aligned with the step areas in the walkway as well as installing the fixtures in locations that would not result in a shrub blocking the light from illuminating the walkway.  In addition to the walkway lights, we up lit an ornamental tree that and installed a spot light on the flag pole.

Path lights are spaced out along this walkway in Andover.

Bluestone Patio

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 6:26 AM by Administrator

We built this natural bluestone patio for this Newton family utilizing square and rectangle shaped natural bluestone.  As space is limited on this property, we attempted to maximize the patio by curving the edges so that an area of lawn could remain to serve as a walkway and an area for the dog to play.

Entrance Patio and Walkways – West Newbury, MA

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 7:14 AM by Administrator

We, Artistic Landscapes, enhanced the entrance to this home by utilizing the same pavers (Unilock’s Umbriano pavers) in both walkways as well as the front patio (farmers’ porch area).  The gray in the pavers matches the house very nicely which is why it was selected to be the body of the walkways and the patio.  A different color (Umbriano’s Winter Marvel) was utilized as the border and to provide a subtle but classy accent to this area.
