Boxwood Evergreens are susceptible to infection

Posted in Pruning, Uncategorized at 4:17 PM by Administrator

The UMass Extension Plant Diagnostic Lab has confirmed that boxwood blight is infecting plants in Massachusetts.  Dan Gillman, a UMass Extension Plant Pathologist, states that many species of boxwood are susceptible to infection.  The fungus will colonize on all above ground parts of a plant and cause defoliation and black lesions often develop on twigs and stems.

Please call us at 978.317.9875 if you would like Artistic Landscapes to perform a site visit and look to see if your boxwood plants have been infected.  New and mature boxwoods are susceptible to this fungus.

Trees Removed by Crane

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:16 PM by Administrator

Prior to incurring significant winter damage to their old trees, we removed several tall trees that were near this North Andover family’s home.  All of the trees were moved by crane so that the shrubs and lawn was not damaged.  This section of tree was over 30′ tall and was moved directly over the house.  If you would like any difficult trees removed, please call Artistic Landscapes at 978.317.9875.  More information about landscaping and tree pruning in the Andover, Georgetown, Lynnfield and North Andover areas can be found at www.Artistic-Landscapes.com.
