Landscape Lighting around a Patio

Posted in Landscape Lights, Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 6:49 AM by Administrator

We were able to provide this Danvers family with the adult type backyard that they had in their goals.  The backyard is completely visible from the kitchen and family room and is now visible after sunset as well.  This family can look at their kitchen window and see the firepit and when they look at the slider from their family room they see the patio and stone planters.

To achieve the upscale look that they were looking for, we installed 3 accent rows around the patio.  The outer 2 rows were built using pavers that are blackish and have an old cobblestone look to them and then we installed 1 row of a contrasting color and style to separate the body of the patio with the outside border rows.  The differences in the textures, colors and styles of the pavers become more pronounced under the soft illumination of strategically placed landscape lights.  The center of the patio is illuminated by a landscape light that is installed approximately 15′ up on the house.

As you can see from this picture, each planter contains an area light which will illuminate the plants as well as the paths next to the planters.
