Stone steps in Manchester, MA

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 7:02 AM by Administrator

This Manchester, MA family wanted a total makeover of the front of their house. We listened to what their objectives were then designed our stonework so that we could keep much of the existing layout while incorporating an entire new finish.

These steps and planters are built with stone veneer and granite treads/coping. The stones as well as the granite look differently when they are dry as compared to the look shortly after some rain.

Walkway and Plantings in Bradford

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Plants, Uncategorized at 6:41 AM by Administrator

This Bradford family needed to replace the broken concrete front walkway as it had become a tripping hazard. They were also ready to add some curb appeal to the front of their house as they have done extensive landscaping in the backyard but had not focused on the front yard.

We listened to their goals and built them a front walkway with Unilock’s Beacon Hill Flagstone 80mm pavers in the Fossil color as their front walkway. The perimeter of this walkway was defined with Eco-Priora pavers in Granite color.

Natural stone walkway in Ipswich

This Ipswich family wanted a relaxed, casual walkway to access their backyard. They showed us a walkway that they love and asked us to duplicate that look. Thus, we were able to customize the feel of the walkway that they had seen into a walkway that works at their house.

Paver patio in Charlestown

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 6:39 AM by Administrator

This landlord wanted to provide a patio for the tenants but had limited access and limited area to the courtyard. After listening to their goals and their budget, we developed a design that included loose tan stone as well as a paver patio. The patio is large enough that each tenant can have their own space for their grill. The patio is built with pavers manufactured by Unilock and their Treo Premier style and Fossil color.

Paver driveway in Ipswich

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 6:43 AM by Administrator

This Ipswich family wanted to extend their driveway to include the additional garage bay. They had been accessing the garage bay by driving on the lawn. We built this paver driveway with Unilock’s Westport pavers in Bavarian color so that it would match their front walkway. The outside edge of this driveway is maintained with cobblestones that are set in concrete. As you may be able to see, we kept the cobblestones that are near the existing driveway lower so that the homeowner is able to ‘cut the turn short’ and drive over the cobblestones.

The driveway was extended by installing Westport pavers.

Brick Walkway in Newburyport

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 6:46 AM by Administrator

We built this brick walkway for a Newburyport family so that they could safely access their backyard from the street. The prior walkway was broken asphalt so we removed all of the asphalt and base materials prior to building this brick walkway. The bricks were repurposed from an old patio and the edging for the walkway was done with cobblestones.

Goshen Stone patio in Newburyport

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 6:40 AM by Administrator

This is a follow-up to the posts where we discussed building this patio but we never shared the final pictures. As you will see in these pictures, Goshen Stone varies in color and size. Some of these stones were 8′ long and 3′ wide. A stone that we installed near the center of the patio is about 5′ – 6′ long and wide.

This view of the patio shows that it is a permeable patio as the joints were filled with 3/8″ peastone. Larger loose stone serves as the mulch between the fence and the patio.

Paver Front Walkway in Ipswich

Posted in Masonry, Pavers, Uncategorized at 6:32 AM by Administrator

This Ipswich family was ready to update their front walkway from the tired bricks that have been there for many years. We helped them understand their options and since they wanted larger format pavers, we installed Unilock’s Westport pavers in the Bavarian color. Everyone is extremely pleased with how well the Bavarian color goes with the color of the house. We were able to maintain the interesting garden beds that welcome you to the front of their home.

This picture shows the original front walkway.

This picture shows the front entrance with Westport pavers. We did not have a paver accenting the perimeter of this walkway as the accent became ‘a little too busy’ given all of the angles that are in the walkway.

Not everything was terrible this year

Posted in Uncategorized, Winter Landscape at 12:11 PM by Administrator

I saw this picture that we took on Lexi’s 3rd birthday and it made me smile. Our Bernese Mountain Dogs have appreciated the additional time and walks together. Although our lives have changed significantly and we do not have family get togethers, Lexi was definitely ready for some cake to celebrate her birthday.

Please call Tony at Artistic Landscapes when you are ready to start planning for 2021. We are already planning for next year and scheduling work for April. Thank you to everyone who had (we are still working towards finishing several projects before the end of this year) us help improve and change their property this year.
