Walkways
Many walkways are built with pavers manufactured by Unilock or Techo-Bloc, two North American companies. We also build walkways using natural flagstone or porcelain tiles (which provide a contemporary look and feel to your walkway).
Artistic Landscapes of Rowley, MA provides paver and natural stone walkways throughout the North Shore region of Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. We listen to each clients’ goals and assess the style of your home and property before designing and recommending a paver or stone for your walkway. Depending on your preference, we will build a cohesive look for all of your walkways or we will vary the material based on the location within the property and intended use.
We believe permeable bases provide the best foundation for our walkways. This means that almost every walkway is built with a base of ¾” crushed stone followed by 3/8” crushed stone for the pavers to be set into. The pavers are secured with edge restraints and all joints are filled with polymeric sand. The polymeric sand minimizes the growth of weeds and maintenance required of your walkway.
All paver walkways can be sealed to have a wet look or a clear look that further minimizes the amount of weeds that can grow in the joints. You may find it interesting to see the sealed section of the front walkway at our Office on Route One in Rowley.
