This Ipswich, MA family has a shady lawn area that does not grow grass well. Last year they replaced their grass with sod but much of the sod died before the end of the year. We showed them a few synthetic lawn options and it was easy for them to select the one that looks best for their home. The neighbors' are jealous that are client has the greenest lawn in town.
The base beneath the sod is compacted 3/4" crushed stone to allow for excellent drainage. We enclosed the artificial turf with edging as we want to prohibit the edges from loosening up and pulling apart in the future. The new turf looks so great partially due to the green coated sand that we spread within the blades of the turf. The homeowners' and we are looking forward to "our" green lawn.
