Can I repair my brick steps?

This Ipswich family had front steps built with bricks while the treads were built with bluestone. The bluestone treads were cracked and became separated from the steps. As a result, the family and their friends had to look closely at the steps as they walked up/down the steps as some of them 'tipped' when you stepped too close to the edge. The client asked us if we could fix the existing steps or would they need to spend more money and have the steps rebuilt from the base.
Artistic Landscapes removed the broken bluestone treads then removed the old mortar that used to secure the bluestone. Once that process was finished, we could see that our original guidance that we should be able to keep the brick steps was correct. The foundation and structure behind the bricks was in good shape. Thus, new 2" thick granite treads were installed onto new beds of mortar. The new granite treads have made the steps safe and functional again while the client did not have to spend the money to have us build them an entire new set of steps.
The following picture shows the original bluestone treads and the spacing between the treads and the "plants" that were growing between the loose treads.
